Gage cluster connectors

Gage cluster connectors detail
I have taken the liberty of identifying am labelling each of the wires on the connectors that connect to the circuit pathways on the back of the gage cluster. I figured I would do this for educational purposes and to help anyone wishing to not use the gage cluster when installing either their Knight Rider dash or any other kind of after market digital dash setups.

  1. This is the only part I don't get. Are you taking the stock cords for the gauges and sautering them to other cords which go to the 24 pin connector? Then out of the connector did you hookup those gauge cords right to the dash Electronics such as rpm, fuel, mph, temperature, etc.?

  2. On I forgot, is the ignition able to be used with a relay and momentary button? So that way you have push button ignition. And what is the ignition to buffer do?
